Our seiza benches are hand crafted out of the Liriodendron tulipifera, or the tuliptree, also called poplar tree. A hand rubbed finish reveals this wood’s natural random stripes. The simple Zen inspired design aids the user in achieving a resting posture for meditation, yoga practices and the Japanese tea ceremony. With one’s legs tucked under the seat, at first a challenge since the feet are stretched back with soles facing up, with use, a comfortable mindfulness is facilitated.
