The Shem Center for Interfaith Spirituality is currently recruiting to increase the capability and diversity of the Board of Trustees. Would you consider joining the Board and devoting 3 to 4 hours a month?

We invite individuals with a commitment to the ongoing presence of Shem Center in today’s world. Living in a time of conflict, division, violence, and injustice demands clarity of purpose and faithfulness to Mission. Trustees are confident that we have something essential to offer – a grounded spiritual presence rooted in listening, discernment, and shared humanity. And seek those who can assist the Center expand it programs and further its impact on the world. We are currently looking for help in two areas:

The Treasurer of the Shem Center Board of Trustees:

• provides oversight of the financial support for our programs,
• develops the annual budget (along with the volunteer accountant),
• presents a brief monthly report to the Board,
• contributes content to the annual report,
• oversees the income and expenditures of the organization,
• and participates in Board meetings and an annual retreat.

Trustee at Large of the Shem Center Board:

• provides input to the Board at our monthly meetings and annual retreat,
• assists with leadership of various projects and activities at the Center. Planned projects in the coming year include resuming in-person retreats, fundraising, and outreach to learning institutions with programming and training opportunities.
