Male Spirit Retreat 2024

"Be Strong, Take Heart"
Integrity and Courage, qualities of an authentic maleness

A Male Spirit Interfaith Retreat for Men

Directed by Br. Joe Kilikevice, OP of Shem Center, Chicago
and Rev. Steve Miller, UCC, Jaffrey Center, NH

November 1-3 2024
LaSalle Manor Retreat Center
12480 Galena Road, Plano, IL 60545

Integrity, respect, kindness, and courage – qualities of authentic maleness – are often conspicuously absent today in men holding public office and other positions of responsibility. Often shadowy and fearful, a reluctance to speak out in opposition to clearly observable wrongdoing dishonors maleness itself. Men acting fraudulently are assaulting the dignity of men, calling for a robust rejection from us. Instead of complying with this departure from a principled maleness, we claim a shared hopefulness in authentic maleness worthy of the name.

Shem Center for Interfaith Spirituality offers you a weekend retreat for men guided by Joe Kilikevice and Steve Miller, with years of Male Spirit retreat experience. Offered at a much-loved retreat center, LaSalle Manor in Plano, Illinois. A forest setting, including a lake, hiking trails, and simple, comfortable accommodations, where a stone-and-timber meeting room with fireplace awaits us. (LaSalleManor.org)

Men fearless and aware of their inherited male dignity know the value of joining together in taking their place in a world in need of integrity and truthfulness. Consider joining the company of other men in exploring our birthright, an honorable maleness. The sacredness of every man’s narrative will be respected and honored. All men are welcome.
